Volunteering opportunities

• Content Reviewer

  Content Reviewer is responsible for ensuring that the material under consideration is accurate, high-quality, free of errors and appropriate for the intended audience. The reviewer can score the submitted materials i.e. abstract via an online platform that is easy to use.

  Time commitment between 10 to 20 hours cumulatively over three months.

• Local Onsite-event Volunteer

  Local Onsite-event Volunteer is willing to serve in various capacities including welcoming attendees, directing attendees in the poster session area, escorting technical tour groups and other fun activities.

  The time commitment is 2 to 4 hours during ASCE 2027.

• Local Pre-event Volunteer

  Local Pre-event Volunteer provides information on the host city, recommends ways to locally promote the conference to include communication with the local chapter. This individual works with other local ASCE members to identify and assist with technical tours and make suggestions for local special events. As well as assisting in identifying educational needs to maintain professional licensures in the region.

  The time commitment between 20 to 30 hours cumulatively over several months.

• Networking Genius

  Networking Genius plans to attend ASCE and can use your enjoyment of meeting new people and helping others join the conversation during the ASCE2027 networking events.

  The time commitment is 2 to 4 hours during ASCE 2027.

• Onsite Journalist

  Onsite Journalist attends the various technical sessions and writes short summaries to share on ASCE’s social media platforms.

  The time commitment is 2 to 4 hours during ASCE 2027.

• Session Moderator

  Session Moderator plans to attend ASCE2027 and is willing to facilitate the technical session presenters' presentations.

  The time commitment is 1 to 2 hours dure one day at ASCE2027.

• Social Media Influencer

  Social Media Influencer helps to promote the ASCE2027 event via social media platforms. ASCE staff will provide the content, and you will help circulate the content to your network and others.

  The time commitment is 10 to 20 hours before, during and after ASCE2027.

• Sponsorship/Exhibit Committee Member Volunteer

  Sponsorship/Exhibit Committee Member Volunteer aligns efforts with the ASCE Sales Team to identify local sponsors and potential exhibitors to be contacted.

  The time commitment between 10 to 20 hours cumulatively over several months.

• Technical Program Committee Volunteer

  Technical Program Committee Volunteer works on the foundational content and implementation of the program and helps to identify the track/topic coordinators, session coordinators, reviewers, and presenters. Helps to identify session types for presentation at ASCE2027. May also work to review the conference proceedings. Works closely with ASCE staff to develop final program content and technical grid.

  The time commitment is between 30 to 40 hours over several months.

• Technical Tour Volunteer

  Technical Tour Volunteer collaborates with other ASCE members to make recommendations for potential technical tour options and helps to solidify the final tour options.

• Volunteer Leader

  Volunteer Leader is willing to take on a leadership role as a chairperson or co-chairperson of a committee. Every effort will be made to align interest areas.

  Time commitment between 40 to 50 hours cumulatively over several months.
